Anna Chagas

PhD Student

I am a biological oceanographer interested in understanding how species interact with their environment and how humans are impacting their distribution.

During my PhD I will use ancient eDNA collected from sediments cores of Lake Constance to investigate past changes in the species composition of nearshore terrestrial communities,  how these changes relate with patterns of ancient human occupations, and how this impacted the aquatic communities of the lake across millennia.

I am conducting these investigations within the framework of the RTG R3 „Response, resilience and reversibility of lake ecosystems“.
