Research interest

The combination of both ecology and evolution is what I am interested in. Especially, how population dynamics and communities change due to biotic and abiotic factors as well as anthropogenic pressures. During my PhD, I work with aquatic microcosm communities consisting of different microalgae groups to address their responses to different environmental changes. The general questions I aim to answer are whether these communities are able to completely recover after the environmental modification has been removed and whether invasion by other algae groups alters the outcome.
